The oft-rumored addition to the Morristown culinary scene is no longer a rumor, according to a spokesperson for College Square Mall.
Olive Garden Italian Kitchen has signed a lease agreement with the mall and will be opening in a to-be-created outparcel at the Morris Boulevard Entrance directly in front of Dick’s Sporting Goods.
With over 800 restaurants across the U.S., Olive Garden offers a wide variety of Italian cuisine as well as catering. Olive Garden is a member of the Darden family of restaurants which includes LongHorn Steakhouse, which is also located at College Square Mall.
There is no timetable available publicly for when the restaurant will be opened.
However, that’s not the only change coming to the mall which has seen several major developments recently.
Popular Mexican restaurant El Toro will be moving from its current location next to the mall’s main entrance to the rear of the mall in the former theatre location. The new El Toro will take up approximately 3,100 square feet of that old theatre location, just across the main rear entrance from the current AMC College Square 12 theatre.
The discount retailer Five Below will move into the current El Toro location.
According to its website, Five Below is one of the fastest growing retailers in the country with more than 500 stores in 32 states.
Catering to teens, pre-teens and their parents, Five Below carries an ever-evolving and exciting assortment of cell phone cases and chargers, remote control cars, yoga pants, graphic tees, nail polish, footballs and soccer balls, tons of candy and seasonal must-haves for Easter, Halloween, Christmas and more.
Everything, every day, is just $5 and below. Its stores are a vibrant, colorful and high-energy destination.
The moves are just the latest in a series for the mall, which recently was purchased with Maryville’s Foothills Mall for a total purchase price of $53,500,000 by Time Equities Inc. Both properties are being managed by Urban Retail Properties.
The mall has also seen the ownership change of the theatre which was purchased by AMC earlier this year as well as the relatively recent arrival of Dick’s Sporting Goods and Ulta Beauty.
