Sport Chalet to Anchor LA’s FIGat7th

Sport Chalet Inc. signed a lease with Brookfield Office Properties for a 26,800-sq.-ft. anchor store at FIGat7th in Los Angeles.

Sport Chalet will be located at the lower courtyard level. Along with City Target, it’s one of the first new anchors to sign up at the center.

Kevin Dee and Ted Slaugh, of Charles Dunn Co., represented the landlord in the transaction.

IKEA Grows in Texas By 54,000 SF

IKEA expanded its store in Round Rock, Texas by 54,000 sq. ft. to approximately 306,000 sq. ft. of space. Construction on the project began in October 2011.

Studio Movie Grill Moves In at Rice Lake Square

Studio Movie Grill signed a lease with Grosnover Americas for a 38,099-sq.-ft. theater at Rice Lake Square in Wheaton, Ill. The company will be taking over the space previously occupied by Linens ‘n Things.

Marget Graham and Katie Hennegan, of Mid-America Asset Management Inc., represented the landlord in the transaction. Jim Erdman, of West Suburban Real Estate Group LLC, represented the tenant.

Ulta Signs a Lease at The Crossings at Fox Run in New Hampshire

Ulta Beauty signed a 13,585-sq.-ft. lease at The Crossings at Fox Run in Newington, N.H. The retailer plans to open its new location if the fall of 2012. KeyPoint Partners LLC represented the landlord in the transaction.

Forever 21 opened an expanded, 20,000-sq.-ft. store at Discover Mills in Lawrenceville, Ga. The retailer previously occupied 6,000 sq. ft. at the property.

ICSC appointed Ami Ziff as New York/Northern New Jersey Next Generation Chair for a one-year-term. In her new role, Ziff will represent the interests of owners, developers, investors and other retail specialists across the New York and North Jersey regions. Ziff serves as director of national retail with Time Equities Inc.

Flocke & Avoyer Commercial Real Estate hired Travis Farrell as associate vice president. In his new position, Farrell will focus on retail leasing, sales, tenant representation and investments. He has more than 10 years of experience in commercial real estate. Previously, Farrell worked at Regency Centers.

Citadel Outlets hired Nicole Arend as special events and marketing manager and Shae Lea as electronic media manager. Arend has five years of experience in retail marketing. Previously, she worked as marketing coordinator at Westfield UTC. Lea previously worked as account executive at Luck Media.
